Tracking spasticity in acute stroke

Posted By Yashna Singh

OBJECTIVE

Body

Spasticity is a prevalent motor impairment in chronic stroke survivors that is highly debilitating. It has been extensively researched and characterized within the chronic phase following stroke, but not much is known regarding the developmental time course and characteristics of spasticity in the acute phase of stroke recovery. The proposed experiments use well-defined protocols with minimal risk from chronic stroke survivor research to test the monosynaptic reflex and TVR responses. We also gather clinical data in the acute and chronic stroke survivors.
