Katy Magee, M.H.S., CCC-SLP/L, CBIS is a Research Speech-Language Pathologist in the Cognitive Neuroscience Lab and a Senior Speech-Language Pathologist working as the Cognitive-Communication Lab Therapist at Shirley Ryan ÌÀÍ·Ìõapp. Katy earned her undergraduate degree at Elmhurst University and her Master¡¯s degree at Governor¡¯s State University. She has been practicing for 12 years with both pediatric and adult populations. Katy has worked in a variety of clinical settings including schools, home health, clinics, Day Rehabilitation Centers, and acute Neuro ICU rehabilitation. For the last 5 years, she has had the pleasure of being the cognitive-communication lab therapist at Shirley Ryan ÌÀÍ·Ìõapp, with focused cognitive-communication treatment for patients in the acute inpatient rehabilitation stage as well as teaching and mentoring support in the areas of attention, memory, pragmatics and executive functions. Most recently, she accepted a position as a Research Speech-Language Pathologist in the Cognitive Neuroscience Lab. Katy¡¯s areas of clinical and scholarly interest are in social cognition and pragmatics, rewards sensitivity, motivation/apathy following acquired brain injuries and treatment for brain fog.
