Our lab is using precision medicine models to define how individual patient genetic differences may impact neurorehabilitation clinical outcomes.
There is a tremendous variability in neurorehabilitation outcomes even between patients who begin at approximately the same level of impairment. The reasons for this are multifactorial, but individual genetic factors are the least well understood. The focus of our lab is to determine how individual patient factors, such as their genetic make up, influence rehabilitation potential and treatment responsiveness in order to achieve much greater personalization of rehabilitation therapies.
